New Japanese Terminator: Salvation Trailer Shows All Sorts Of Mechanized Action [New Terminator Trailer]

| пятница, 25 сентября 2009 г.

Thanks to an early release of this Japanese version of the Terminator Salvation trailer, everything we saw at the beginning of November now gets tied together for us.

We had already seen all the elements of this new trailer at the beginning of November, but in the latest trailer which has made its way onto the web early thanks to some enterprising young Japanese fan-boys, we're able to see it all nicely tied together. This new trailer shows the motorcycle terminators out doing their thing, the monstrous harvesters, and what we assume is a heated face-to-face exchange between John Connor and a restrained Terminator. We rolled our eyes when we first heard there was to be another Terminator movie, but this is actually looking like it's going to be pretty awesome. [TrailerAddict]

Everyone's Using The "B-Word" Except The Not-So-Big Three [Carpocalypse Now]

| вторник, 8 сентября 2009 г.

After scrutinizing not-so-Big Three CEO's testimony before the Senate yesterday to see who would and would not utter the dreaded "b-word" we noticed a pattern. Everyone was willing to publicly acknowledge the possibility except the chairmen of Ford, Chrysler and GM. If you don't say it, it can't happen right? hat tip to Shannon Donnelly!

Renault Twingo Brings Strippers And Moms Together [Ad Watch]

| вторник, 1 сентября 2009 г.

The new European commercial for the Renault Twingo is a reminder of the old country's ability to have fun little econoboxes like the Twingo Sport mixed with saucy, suggestive advertisements. Conceived by advertising firm Publicis, the safe-for-work 30-second spot proclaims "we live in modern times" though, in America, we're not quite as "modern" as our European counterparts. We'll just have to be content with being Saved By Zero. [Ads Of The World]

GM's Wagoner: Send Help... Please [Gm]

| среда, 12 августа 2009 г.

Speaking with CNBC's Phil LeBeau, who has spent today talking to more distressed people than Dr. Phil, GM CEO Rick Wagoner outlined how grim the news is for the troubled automaker, and mentioned the "domino effect" losing GM would have on the economy ( as an aside, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) claims 6.5 indirect jobs for each OEM job — whether that's supplier jobs or just the guy who runs the dry cleaners in the RenCen). The big concern is that GM will simply run out of the cash it needs to operate, which Wagoner said was between $11 and $14 billion. Though the company is currently losing $2.3 billion per month in cash, he thinks the company will lose something closer to the $1 billion a month it was losing in the first half the year and will try to offload assets. And bankruptcy?

There's nothing like power of denial. Though asked the question a couple different ways, Wagoner wouldn't take the bait, only saying "We've said this before: we have no plans whatsoever than to continue to run the business... you can't sell cars under that circumstance." Yes, as opposed to all of those cars you're selling now. Either way, the bottom line from GM continues to be that either a magical fairy fixes the economy quickly, or someone bails them out.
